What Causes Burning And Pain The Throat And Mouth After Eating Cheerios?
Hi, my daughter just called to tell me she ate Cheerios and the right side of her throat and the roof of her mouth are burning. She tried drinking milk and water, but both made her throat hurt more. She also said that her neck is hot on the right side. She is otherwise fine. Any ideas?
I can understand your concern. It seems that your daughter has allergies to Cheerios and it is advisable for her to avoid its consumption in future as the reaction might be even more severe.
I would advise you to start antihistamine such as Levocetrizine 5 mg (Levocet) once a day for 5 days to control the allergic reaction. If the reaction does not decrease or come under control in a day or two, you should visit a physician for the clinical examination of the area and further investigations.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish your daughter feels better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
