What Causes Burning At The Back Of Throat After Having Oral Sex?
Hi, So I met up with a guy and both gave and received oral sex. About three hours later my throat began burning at the back to a point where my eyes were watering and I needed to eat something to soothe the pain. It is sort of like an itchy, dry feeling. It was not sore at all before I met up with him. Could this be a disease he gave me causing the pain?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Burning sensation on back of throat associated with watering of eyes could be due to viral infection infecting the throat. Oral sex can cause sexually transmitted infections like herpes simplex infection but this infection is unlikely to be due to oral sex. You can take anti-histaminic preparation for controlling the symptoms. If the symptoms worsen or if there is superimposed bacterial infection characterised by pain in the throat, you need to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and prescription of an antibiotic.
