Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My sons penis burns after swimming. And it happens at different pools. It did it a lot when he was younger and the dr thought the opening at the tip had closed off some so they did a small surgery. That was when he was 4 Now he is 12 and it is happening all the time for him. It s so sad because he is a 12 year old boy and we have a swimming pool. But he is starting to not ever want to swim
This could be due to chlorine in the swimming pools that is used for cleaning purposes. As the foreskin is delicate so, it can cause irritation there. My advice to you is avoid swimming for a while and ask your son to drink plenty of water to flush it off. do not hesitate to pee. You can use petroleum jelly at the site of burning as a home remedy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Sameen Bin Naeem, General & Family Physician
