What Causes Burning On The Tip Of The Penis During Urination?
Hello, I have had a series of interesting events happening in my private parts and would love some information on what could possibly be going on. I ll give a time line of what has been happening since roughly 6 days ago. Day 1. It burns in the tip of penis to pee. Day 2. It burns A LOT in tip of penis to pee. Day 3. Small rash appears on shaft of penis resembling tiny bug bites that look like the top has been scratched off thus creating tiny holes and exposing the skin under. 4. Rash gets larger, holes get bigger, and pain to pee decreases. Lymphnodes in hips swell significantly. 5. Rash goes from a red to a dark deep brown. All dots on skin become completely dark. Pain increased significantly. 6. I went to an urgent care and they were not able to tell me much but gave a urine sample and blood sample. The urine came back negative for anything bacterial and the blood test comes back in roughly 3-4 days. I was prescribed valacyclovir in the hopes that it would reduce anything that was going on. I am gay and have unprotected sex with my boyfriend (of almost a year) and only my boyfriend. Thank you for any information that you re able to provide.
From your description it sounds like you have had sudden onset of pain in the tip of the penis and now lingering pain. This sounds like you have either a sudden case of urethritis or infection of the bladder, you have a kidney stone that lodged in the urethra or possibly a herpes infection. Since you have not had prior herpes infections of the penis or genital area it would be unlikely that at your age you would have contracted herpes. You otherwise sound very healthy for a 74 year old man and that makes the possibility of a kidney stone lodging in the urethra more common.
Do you have blood in your urine or do you notice pain on urination? Any prior history of kidney stones? or bladder infections or prostate infections?
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
