What Causes Burning Rashes On Face After Exposing To Sun?
i started using aveeno sunblock this and i noticed that on wednesday my face was burning a little but thought that maybe the sunblock had worn out. Yesterday i applied it on my face only and was exposed to the sun all day. This morning i have a burning almost scaly feeling rash all over my face with swelling, headache and dizziness. What can it be, and should i go to the hospital and get it treated?
I understand your concern for burning rashes on face after exposing to sun. After reading your query with diligence I can make out that you probably have got sun burn. It is quite common in fair skin person to get easy sunburns due to less amount of protective pigment melanin in it.
In the treatment of above it is very essential to have sun protection. IN my patients with your kind of problem I suggest a mild steroid cream over the red areas. For the soothing of the burning sensation calamine lotion can be used to help treating the condition.
I suggest my patients to apply a broad spectrum sunscreen are to be used atleast 3 times per day. It is better to use a physical sunscreen then a chemical sunscreen. If you use a chemical sunscreen then it is better to use above SPF 30. You can consult a dermatologist if the lesions are not healing to get proper treatment.
All the best.
