Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Burning Sensation Along With Dryness On Face?
I am a black female 60 years old and for the past 5 days my face has been burning, prickery , and dry. My skin feels dry but not like my face. My face is slightly darker than my neck. I take Gabapentin 600 mg x 3 daily, Baclofen 10 mg x 3 daily and my hypertension meds, Lisinsphril 20-20 mg what could be going on? The only relief that I seen to get is when I put cool water on my face.
The important question here is: since when have you been taking these medications? If you have been taking them for quite a while it’s highly unlikely that they are the cause of your skin issue. However, if there was a change in your medication it can obviously be the reason. So you should definitely see a dermatologist because what you describe doesn’t sound too good and every skin condition is hard to diagnose without having seen it.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Alexander Davis, General & Family Physician
