What Causes Burning Sensation And Itching Around Surgical Stitches?
I had a procedure done to remove a simple lesion from the stitch line of my first degree tear with my daughter. The doctor initially thought it was a foreign body granuloma secondary to suture material. He did an excision which I didn t know he was going to do. It wasn t inside my skin at all - it looked like a growth. After the surgery results came back as an epithelial polyp. He only used three stitches to close up a 1.5 cm wound and one by one they tore and I let the doctor know...he called it separation of incision edges but it was really full blown open, I could stick my finger inside to the first knuckle. Should I have consulted another doctor to do a repair surgery right away? 14 months later I have burning/itching pain and no one wants to touch it due to the location and making things worse...would a plastic surgeon specializing in vaginal rejuvenation be my best bet? No normal OB/GYN thinks they can handle it.
