What Causes Burning Sensation And Itching In The Vagina?

I had sex in a pool 6 days ago (I am unsure wether this is the cause but symptoms started after this). My vagina is very itchy at times and sore mostly around the clitoris area. I had not noticed a burning sensation until I had a shower 20 minutes ago in a small area (I figured this was from irritation from itching). What could this be? I just want to narrow it down

pools are not exactly a very sanitary place to expose your private parts
so your problem can be due to one of the following reasons
do you have any discharge ?

some parasitic infection that you must have been exposed in the pool
irritation due to chlorine in the pool
infection you might have got from your partner

generally these infections don’t have fever as symptoms

what you can do -
apply metronidazole vaginal ointment
wash your vagina with clean water
drink a lot of fluids

this should take care of your symptoms
