What Causes Burning Sensation And Numbness On The Forearms?
when i straighten my arm i have an almost clicking type of feeling (feels kind of like a rubber band snapping) in my middle inside right forearm ...right in the middle ... that sends a burning sensation on the inside of my forearm along with numbness from middle of inside of my right forearm that continues down to the beginning of my thumb and index finger. the faster i straighten it the hotter the pain is. the slower i straighten it the lesser the pain is. If i straighten it slow enough there is bearly any pain involved.
The sensations are distributed through out the body through sensory nerves. we feel such symptoms when there is some problem with the nerves.
Now the nerve supply to the arms is from the cervical spine in the neck.
The numbness produced is either due the to compression of the cervical spine due to any reason like the improper posture of lying or inappropriate pillow or some pressure on that side of brachial plexus or either due to Vit B12 deficiency.
Vit B12 supplements and a short course of Amitriptyline is suggested.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
