What Causes Burning Sensation And Tenderness In Thigh When Diagnosed With Heart Disease?
I have a slight burning sensation on an area of my thigh, like I have Ben Gay on it. Compared to my other thigh, there is a slight numbness to touch as well. First noticed it about a month ago and it is more prevalent when I am wearing long slacks. There is no pain and there is no physical restrictions from it. As far as my health records, my main problem is heart disease, which has resulted in several stents over the past 15 years.
Burning sensation and tenderness in thigh is commonly due to meralgia paresthetica. Avoid wearing tight clothing, tight pants, slacks, etc. If obese, reduce obesity. If diabetic, control your blood glucose at all cost. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP. Get CT, MRI, Nerve conduction studies, electromyography done and get treated at the earliest. Your treating doctor will treat you with corticosteroid injections, antidepressants, etc., for relieve from pain you can tale acetaminophen or combiflam, one SOS when needed.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
