What Causes Burning Sensation And Throbbing Pain In The Anus?
Hi I recently went to the doctor because I felt the inside of my anus burning and throbbing. The doctor checked me and said she saw one hemmorrhoid outside my anus and she feels I have internal hemmorrhoid and possibly fissure. I wasn t prescribed anything. How long does this take to go away? Am I going to be ok? Is the throbbing and burning going to go away?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The throbbing & burning due to fissure which is infected needs treatment. Self care with high fiber diet, & plenty of water drinking. Can take mild laxative to smoothen the stools(so as to prevent straining for motion & stretch on fissure.
Schmitz bath with hot water & application of over the counter ointment for fissure (Anovate) would help. Should be relieved by 3-4 days. If no pain relief or the symptoms aggravate you need oral medicines & more specific treatment. Internal piles are also due to increased pressure on anus with hard stools. They mostly need lessor surgical treatment. Please consult an anorectal surgeon.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
