General & Family Physician, Dr. Shreyas S's Response
based on your symptoms it can be one of a few diagnosis sciatica, muscle cramps/spasms.It should be more of a concern if the pain is aggravating on coughing or sneezing or if the pain is continuous(suggestive of sciatica) if it is occurring while ur exercising or rest then we might put it it terms of muscle spasms occurring with respect to muscle over exertion or fatigue- put these into consideration if u r a young individual. If you are an older individual however with co morbidity with renal disease for eg,then i would think in terms of diselectrolytemia. Following investigations would be helpful routine-cbc,urine routine, renal function tests, serum electrolytes, mri spine etc.
