What Causes Burning Sensation Around Rib Area While Having Nutcracker Esophagus?
let me begin by saying i have nutcracker esophagus after 10 hour of eating i get a burning sensation around rib cage i awake with nausea and three times in the last six months have pain in right side of jaw with sweats this happens mostly when I am sleeping I have seen a cardiologist and shown no signs of heart problems after nuclear study and echo i recently had a manometry and it was normal

Understanding your concern. As per your query you haveburning sensation around rib area while having nutcracker esophagus. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case the symptoms ar probably due to nutcracker disease , because this condition cause acid reflux which further cause burning sensation . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterology for proper examination . Doctor may order certain test like x-ray of upper digestive track along with endoscopy of esophagus . Doctor may prescribe anti-reflux therapy like H2 blockers , drugs, such as nitrates or calcium channel blockers , these help relax the muscles of the esophagus and stomach or tricyclic antidepressants . For now take light meal , take non spicy ,meal specially at night and take antacid after every meal .
