What Causes Burning Sensation Around The Vagina After Taking Miprogen?
Hi , I am 6 weeks pregnant now and I m taking 50 mg thyroxine tablets since I have Thyroid problem, my doctor has suggested me to take Miprogen 200 capsules - After taking these capsules I m getting mild burning sensation around my vagina and mild lower abdominal pain - what should I do now, should I stop Miprogen capsules or what. Please help! Thank you
Hello, Thanks for the query. Miprogen capsules are given for helping your pregnancy. Stopping those is not advisable. Vaginal burning may be a temporary complaint. If persists, then do talk to your doctor about it. If abdominal pain is persistent some antispasmodics can be taken. Most important aspect other than these is your TSH levels. In pregnancy it is very essential to maintain TSH around 2 mU/L during all the three trimesters. So please do test TSH every 4 to 6 weeks. If level is higher than recommended ( 1st trimester :0. 2 to 2.5, 2nd trimester 0.2 to 3 mU/L & 3rd trimester 0.3 to 3 mU/L). This is very critical for proper fetal development and normal outcome of pregnancy. Thanks.
