Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Burning Sensation Around The Vagina During And Post Sex?
I m 18 years old and I have been having sore pain after sexual intercourse for 4 months now, the pain is a burning sensation from the outside of the vagina and inside during and after intercourse. I ve been to my gp and it s not an STD,an infection nor cervix cancer or a cist. When going back to my gp she told me it could be chronic and it could go away in a few years! I refuse to take this and want to seek further help! What do you think it could be and can it be treated? Please and thank you
As a physician I would like to tell you that according to your symptoms what you are experiencing is a yeast infection around and inside your vaginal area. Your GP was quite right in ruling out other causes and concern and it does comes down with time. Meanwhile I would also like to tell you that if your itching problem is very uncomfortable, you can take a antibiotic pessary course like Candida-V6 and apply some ointment around vaginal opening like Cebate-Gm Ointment.
I would also like to suggest that you should visit a MD Obgy doctor if the problem continues to bother you in future.
Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question.
Regards, Dr. Abhijeet
