What Causes Burning Sensation During Intercourse?

Hi there, My partner and I had chalmydia and both just took azythromicyin. We ve been using a condom but even before that it would seem that everytime we had intercourse it would burn everytime we would have sex. He took the medication Saturday and I took it Sunday. I m conserend this burning won t go away and it s really irritating. Is there anything else that could be causing this problem? I don t think it s the condom because I have no irritation afterwards (no burning or difficulty urinating)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
The reason why you are experiencing burning sensation in the vagina during intercourse could be due to lack of lubrication associated with bacterial vaginosis.
Kindly do the following to overcome the problem.
1. Wash the region with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon twice daily.
2. After drying, apply antibiotic medication Clindamycin Cream twice daily.
3. Take a course of oral antibiotic medication Tablet. Metronidazole.
4. Use vaginal pH balancing solution 'v wash' regularly.
5. Apply moisturizer cream or lotion at bedtime.
6. Wear loose fitting undergarments to avoid friction and provide proper ventilation.
7. Abstain from sexual activities till the symptoms subside completely.
Gradually, your symptoms should subside and be back to normal.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
Wish you good health.
