What Causes Burning Sensation During Urination After Unprotected Intercourse?
I had unprotected sex 2 nights ago. When I got home later on that evening I noticed burning while urinating and then over a few hours, there is small areas that burn and are a little irritated on both side of the labia minora, near the opening of my vagina. I do not have any discharge or any other symptoms besides the burning and irritation. It s slightly red but not noticeable. We did not use any lubricant so it cant be an allergic reaction. There are no bumps or lesions. It feels sort of like when a tampon can dry out your vagina.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It is possible that you have minor abrasions due to decreased lubrications during unprotected intercourse. At the same time, watch out for continued symptoms of burning urination or discharge from the vagina.
If those symptoms come up, you should get a urine examination or discharge swabbing for the same. In the meant time, drink lots of water.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan
