What Causes Burning Sensation During Urination While On Metamucil?

Hi I just started taking a fiber supplement its metamucil like the other day about 3 days ago and all of a sudden now when I go pee if burns and it almost feels like there is a cut in my vagina and it bleeds a little almost like I m starting my period what does it mean should I stop taking it?

HI,
I understand your concern
If you do not have history of irritation, injury, itching, or white discharge - The symptom you have can be attributed to allergic reaction following intake of Metamucil.
- You should stop taking the product for time being &
- apply steroid ointment at the cut region.
- get your urine checked/ internal examination by a gynecologist done, in case there is no relief with withdrawal of Metamucil along with use of .ointment .
You may find some vaginal infection / urine infection as a causative factor... start with specific treatment .THis excludes reaction to Metamucil & now you can take it safely.
