What Causes Burning Sensation In Abdomen Along With Burps?

Hi. My boyfriend was experiencing a burning sensation on the left side of his stomach last night, and felt like it would shoot up his esophagus. He felt like he was going to throw up, but ended up burping instead. And today, he says it hurts on his left side, to go to the bathroom and drink water.

Epigastric tenderness and left sided abdominal pain with nausea indicates Gastritis.If he is an alcoholic ask him to stop.Avoid oily and spicy foods.Ask him to take regular small meals.Dont skip the meals.He can start with Antacids like Pantop-D as a regular course one dose in the morning for 15-20 days{before break fast}.And for pain he can take Meftal Spas.Hope it may help him.
