What Causes Burning Sensation In Arm After A Discectomy?
6 weeks ago i had c67 discectomy and fusion and am still experiencing burning in my lower arm ,wrist area and in my lower legs. I have my initial MRI report and am wondering if the following could be causing the burning in my legs as my neurosurgeon said that c6/7 shouldn t cause leg pain. He never adressed the following from my MRI : there is a small hemangioma in the T5 vertebral body. Marrow signal is otherwise normal. There is decreased signal in the discs on t2-weighted images at T2-t3 and T6-T7. This suggests disc desiccation. Normal signal is seen in the rest of the discs. Mild disc height loss is also present at T6-7.
Dear patient C6c7 discectomy was done for what purpose? Was it herniated? Sometimes after discectomy burning sensation persists due to swelling and inflammation of nerve roots due to handling at the time of surgery. But usually this resolves within one to two months. If it doesn't improve after that then compression on nerve roots might not been removed completely. Also C6c7 disc prolapse will not lead to leg pain that might be reason for persistant leg pain. Your other mri changes are not significant and need not to worry.
