What Causes Burning Sensation In Chest After Accidental Ingestion Of Chewing Gum?

I believe I swallowed gum Sunday and after taking medication (pills) last night I awoke with pain and a burning sensation in my chest. I tried cold water and it didn t work so I ve been drinking hot water all day and it feels like the lump has moved up. Should I go to the ER? I can t comfortably swallow food.
