What Causes Burning Sensation In Chest And Choking Sensation After Eating?

Hello, Recently I have been having difficulty after eating. I have chest burning sensation. I feel as if the food is stuck in between stomach and esophagus. I try to burp...but can't voluntary. Once or twice during my attempts I almost regurgitated my food out. I tried chewing slowly and taking small portions but that didnt help. What would you suggest I do?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your have symptoms burning sensation in chest and choking sensation after eating which is due to gastroesophageal reflux disease commonly known as acid reflux. I would suggest you to take preventive measures such as exercise daily. Avoid heavy meals and take meals at short intervals. Take medication such as Domperidone for few months. Avoid hot sharp spicy foods. Don't smoke. Maintain hydration level of body and take multivitamin tablets. If your condition keeps on persisting visit gastroenterologist once and get it examined and start treatment accordingly. You should drink plenty of water and plenty of fluids. Don't lie down on bed immediately after food.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
