Get clinically examined by an orthopedist. Apart from burning sensation, if you also have fever, swollen and painful glands, then it be due to an infection or a different pathology. It could be due to nerve damage, nerve pain, impingement or a neuropathy.
If diabetic, keep your blood sugar level under control at all cost. You may be referred to a Neurologist. Get all required tests and investigations done so that treatment can be started at the earliest. In case of nerve issues radiofrequency waves ablation procedure is most commonly used to treat chronic pain and conditions such as arthritis of the spine spondylosis, etc.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
