What Causes Burning Sensation In Feet While Running During Pregnancy?
Hello. I have just found out I am pregnant, I think I am around 6 or 7 weeks! I would like to carry on running however the past 2 days I have been out running I have felt a burning sensation in the arches of my feet. Is this just pregnancy or should I be worried? This is my 2nd pregnancy, my 1st was a smooth easy pregnancy and labour. Thanks
Burning feet syndrome during pregnancy is commonly found in Vit. B complex deficiency (particularly Vit. B1. B12), Anaemia (which is caused by iron, folic acid and/or protein deficiency) and Calcium & Vit. D3 deficiency.
As it is the requirements of all these minerals increases by manyfold during pregnancy. Please ensure that you are consuming the required amount of these mineral.
Please get your haemoglobin with full haemgramme checked to find out the status and type of anaemia if any.
Please keep a watch on your blood pressure. Changes in Blood pressure can cause such symptoms due to altered blood supply to legs.
Running is not an exercise recommended during pregnancy. You can do light stretching exercise and brisk walking at the pace of 90 steps/minute.
Please report to your Obstetrician.
I hope this helps you.
