What Causes Burning Sensation In Genitals?
Hi, I am a 66 year old female. Several times a day I get the feeling of warmth in the genital and lower buttock area as if I have just wet myself. However, I have not! The warmth flows in and is quite strong and burning. It lasts a couple of minutes. It s similiar to the feeling that occurs after infusion for a CT scan! Any ideas???

This is often caused by neuritis or peripheral nerve damage. There are many causes of peripheral nerve damage such as diabetes, chronic renal failure, leprosy, vertebral compression, vasculitis, shingles and hypothyroidism etc.
Advice
1. Methylcobalamin 500 mcg once daily per oral for 3 months
2. Investigations – blood sugar (fasting & postprandial)
