What Causes Burning Sensation In In The Throat After Tonsillectomy?
I've had a tonsillectomy 11 days from now, it was hard the first few days but pain gradually resided and the pain is 90 percent gone. However on my right tonsil there's a slight burning sensation when I swallow in one particular area. I looked at my throat and it looked like a really small pimple where my right tonsil was removed, what could this be? There's also quite a lot of white on my throat is this normal? Thanks
As per your complain a pimple in the area to tonsillectomy and white in throat with slight burning sensation in throat seems to be due to infection in the tonsillectomy site..
I would suggest you to consult your ENT Surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation will be ..
You will be advised a course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory painkillers like .. Do warm saline gargle.. Gargle with antiseptic mouthwash solution.. You can also gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine.. Avoid hot and spicy foods..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
