What Causes Burning Sensation In Legs And Knee After Having Back Fusion?

I am a 61 year old female who, 6 weeks ago had a second back fusion (L3,L4L5C) The unbearable burning in my legs above the knees is unbearable. Before the surgery this area was numb. even clothes touching this area is painful. What can I do to ease this pain. Pain pills just isn t something I prefer.

If you do not want to use pain medication, the main aspects of treatment may be rest, ice therapy to help reduce pain sensation.

Behavioral techniques to help with pain control may also help. These would be taught by a counselor or psychologist.
