Hello,
Woke up from burning sensation in mouth and throat difficult to breathe and feel burning in the lung may cause from
acid reflux. It can have this effect because stomach acid works its way up the esophagus and irritates the lining, which may cause inspiratory breathing problem. Acid reflux may also cause a
chronic cough.
Acid reflux (
gastroesophageal reflux disease) called GERD is a digestive disorder affecting the muscles in the food pipe, which is the tube that connects the mouth and stomach. Typically, the muscles in the food pipe get narrower to keep the food in the stomach after eating. When a person has Gerd, these muscles do not close up completely, which allows stomach acid and partially digested food to travel back up into the food pipe. This acid reflux can cause heartburn, mouth, throat burn and also cause
aspiration pneumonia or asthma.
Treatment for GERD that related to difficult to breathe or asthma we need to treat acid reflux. include the medicine zantac, PPI(
omeprazole), eat five or six small meals a day rather than three large meals, wearing loose clothing around the waistline, avoiding lying down within 3 hours of eating, quitting smoking. You also need to avoid the foods, which may trigger acid reflux such as fried and fatty foods, alcohol, caffeine drink, chocolate, peppermint, citrus fruits, onion, garlic, tomato-based products, spicy foods.
You should go to see your doctor if you have
shortness of breath with a burning sensation in the heart area or lung. Your doctor will conduct tests to determine the underlying cause and may prescribe medications to alleviate symptoms. sometimes, shortness of breath can indicate a serious underlying medical condition. It is important to seek medical attention if shortness of breath occurs while at rest, last longer than 30 minutes, or occurs alongside any of the following pain or pressure in the chest,
difficulty breathing when lying flat, wheezing, fever, chill and cough, blue tinge to the lips or fingertip, swelling of the feet or ankle.
