General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes, the burning sensation is likely related to your neuropathy. It is one of the typical symptoms.

There are different causes of neuropathy. If it is due to low levels of vitamin b12 or folate then replacing these vitamins would help.

The other causes---(1)liver or kidney disease
(2)thyroid disease
(3)diabetes
(4)trauma to the nerves eg arthritis of the spine
(5)infection such as shingles
(6)exposure to toxins
(7)autoimmune diseases such as lupus or RA

There are also meds that treat neuropathy symptoms eg gabapentin, lyrica, tegretol, amitriptyline

I hope this helps
