Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Burning Sensation In The Abdomen After Taking A Probiotic Supplement?
I recently started taking digestive enzymes with a probiotic for excessive gas and bloating. I was told to take one after lunch and one after dinner. Problem is that within about 30 mins after taking the supplement, I get a burning sensation in my abdomen. Makes me feel nauseous. I also take prilosec which I have been taking one per day for many years because of acid reflux. Do you think I should continue taking the digestive enzymes?
Good day and thank you for posting this question. I will advice you stop the probiotic and let's see whether you still feel nauseous. An alternative you can use is Antacids like Gestid or Gascol. I hope it helps. Thank you.
