What Causes Burning Sensation In The Abdomen With The History Of Hernia?
I have started to listen to my body more since my hernia surgery in 2012. 50% of my stomach was in my chest cavity. Since experiencing those symptoms, I listen to my body. Two days ago I started feeling weird. I have a strong burning feeling in my abdominal area and when it comes on I feel a little shaky and weak. I am going to see my doctor and have made a appointment. Do you have any idea what this could be and should I wait for my appointment or go to er. The burning sensation is inside of my body that s what it feels like really really warm feeling.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Your history suggests that you have operated for a hiatus hernia. Hiatus hernia is a condition wherein the stomach slides into the chest cavity and is accompanied by acidity and gastro-esophageal reflux. Since you have got operated for hiatus hernia, it is important and necessary to consult your doctor for regular follow up. The disappearance of symptoms, general health and condition of surgical site are all necessary to assess the success of surgery. Development of burning sensation could be due to reappearance of gastro-esophageal reflux and thus consultation with your treating surgeon is necessary.
