The pain related to shingles can be severe and persistent in some persons unfortunately. In others it may decrease with time, it is possible that yours will decrease. If the heating pad helps you, then you can continue using it.
There are also medications that may be able to help as well, for example, Lyrica, Tegretol, Amitriptyline, etc. You can speak to your doctor about the vaccine.
