What Causes Burning Sensation In The Cervix?

Hi I have a burning sensation in my cervix . I have been told I have a septum uterus and it goes down into my cervix . Found this out when they were trying to put an iUD in and they didn t even have room for it because of the uterus in my cervix . Would all that be a cause of the burning sensation that I m having ? I have been recently Cheked for a UTi and it was negative .

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

A septum of the womb may prevent the IUD to go in but is not generally related to burning sensation in the cervix. Other causes should be ruled out, infections included. It is advisable to have a pap smear if you have not had one in the last 1-2 years and also samples for the NAAT examination for chlamydia and gonorrhea.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
