General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for the query.
Bùurning in chest is mostly caused by burning starts in upper abdomen & reaclches to chest. This is caused by Gastritis / esophageal muscles spasms due to regurgitation of gastric contents following weak gastric spincter.. the acidic contents causing irritation of esophaus Such pain starts from eating spicy or oilyfood appers after 2 hours after eating. In can disturb you from sleep.
While though burning in chest can be symptom of heart problem.. it is charactorised by sudden excrusiating &compressive pain behind mid breast bone ( sternum).which is passed to left shoulder, neck or back .
* In short the pain after a heart attack can be recognised by it's nature.
Still It's better to get examined by your treating doctor &get heart problem excluded.&get specific medicines
* till then -Avoid staying fasting, eating spicy/oily food, avoid sleeing immediately after eating.
Avoid physical or special stress
Thanks.
