General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi i do care for your concern.
The fumes will cause irritation to the lining of the respiratory tract.
This will cause cough irritation and mucous secretion.
It is advisable not to take any medication and avoid exposure and have fresh air for breathing.
The condition will resolve on its own, however if pain is severe then pain killers will help a little bit.
Hope the condition resolves soon.
Hope i have answered your question, if you have more feel free to ask.
Thank you.
