What Causes Burning Sensation In The Chest And Headache After Eating?

Hello. I have been reducing my portion sizes since about November 2015. However, Last night I had some pizza and now I have this burning sensation in my chest and earlier I had a headache. I drank some water and it helped a little but it keeps coming back. I heard it was heartburn but I am only 18 years old. I know my body has been cut off from grease and fatting foods but should a few slices of pizza cause this much pain? what should I do next?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Thank you for posting in HCM.
Spicy and Oily foods tend to increase the acidity of your stomach and may cause burning sensation in chest.
As Pizza contains spices and alot of cheese it may cause acidity.
I suggest my patients one Tab Esomeprazole 20 mg 15-20 minutes before breakfast everyday for 2 weeks.
I also suggest them to avoid oily foods, soft drinks, and atleast 20 mins walk before going to bed.
Wish you good health.
Do post again in HCM if you have any further questions.
Regards.
