What Causes Burning Sensation In The Feet?

My feet have been in so much pain the last few days... I cant even hardly walk on them....best way to describe the feeling is..........soaking in hot sauce without skin on my feet.......its not a muscle pain, or a sprain ankle pain, or tired pain, just intense burning.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to:
1. Para spinal muscle spasm & Nerve compression at the Lumbo sacral region.
2. Peripheral neuropathy.
3. Any fluctuation in blood pressure levels (Hypo/Hypertension)
4. Altered blood sugar levels (Hypo/Hyperglycemia)
5. Inadequate hydration & nutrition status.
6. Deficiency of certain nutrients like Iron, Vitamin B 12, Calcium, Magnesium, etc.
Investigations like complete blood count, estimation of blood pressure and blood sugar levels will be helpful in clinching the diagnosis.

Symptomatic relief can be obtained with nervigenic agents (like Vit B6, B12, Folic acid) as well as multivitamin & mineral supplementation needs to be added in the diet.
Postural exercise & Physiotherapy will also be helpful.

If symptom still persist, kindly consult a Neurologist for proper clinical examination including nerve conduction studies.
Meanwhile, maintain adequate hydration, take a healthy balanced diet & avoid stress.

Wishing a good health.
Take care.
