What Causes Burning Sensation In The Foot?

Yes, my 5 year old grandson complains his foot is on fire, (Burning) usually in the even hours but it is not hot to the touch. He will ask for a cool wet wash cloth and after a little while he is fine. If you try to tell him nothing is wrong he goes in to a crying moot that can last for hours.
