Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Burning Sensation In The Genitals During Urination In A Diabetic Person?
I went to the bathroom last night and there was burning in the genital area after I peed. I examined the area and then unconsciously touched my face and then my upper lip started burning. After that one time peeing I haven t experienced anymore burning after peeing but Ive noticed a burning sensation in certain parts of my body like my palm my inner thigh and my upper lip. I am diabetic and I take metformin lisinopril and escitalopram.
You can try to use some antifungal cream on the genital area, clotrimazol or miconazole cream. If you notice no improvement in 2-3 days you notice any worsening you will need to see the doctor and have a check and possibly a urinalysis to rule out urinary infection as diabetic patients are prone to infections and candida infections as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
