General & Family Physician 's  Response
Many women may experience burning sensation after intercourse. Common causes include dryness in the vagina, yeast infections, having an STD, urinary tract infection, and friction from sex. Most of the times, vaginal infection is caused mixed organisms such as fungus, bacteria and protozoa.
Advice
1.     Azithromycin 500 mg daily per oral for 3 days
2.     Fluconazole 150 mg weekly per oral for 4 weeks – total 4 doses
3.     Metronidazole 500 mg orally twice daily for seven days
4.     Apply K – Y lubricating jelly before sex
5.     Consider switching positions, as this can sometimes help to alleviate the pain either partner is feeling
6.     Do not rush sex, as the longer that foreplay lasts, the more arousal, hence lubrication, will occur naturally
7.     Investigation
a.      Blood sugar (F & PP)
b.     Vaginal smear examination including Gram’s staining
c.     VDRL
Thanks
