What Causes Burning Sensation In The Left Nostril?

My left nostril has a burning feeling in it. Looks like a sore. I had this once before about a year ago and saline wash seemed to clear it up. Same side, same symptom, uncomfortable. No drainage. I ve put neosporyn on a q tip and applied neosporyn three times in 24 hours.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Burning sensation in the nostril is commonly due to dry skin due to dryness in the air, allergy / irritation in the nasal passages, rhinitis or sinus. You are suggested to use a bedroom humidifier, avoid too much outdoor exposure, apply moisturizer. Nasal sprays & nasal saline wash effectively relieve the discomfort. Take warm bath, stay well hydrated & take acetaminophen (tylenol), one SOS when required for relieve.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
