What Causes Burning Sensation In The Lips?

My lips have been burning and painful, more so on the moister inside portoin.. not on the inside of my mouth. I have spent a great deal of time in the sun, and assumed they may be sunburned, but the exterior part isn't sore. I didn't know if it could be because of the moisture, or not. I also had what i thought was a coldsore, that i treated with rubbing alcohol, and that went away relatively quickily. I have also, however been eating a lot more fresh fruit (melon, pineapple, strawberries and peaches) as well as tomatoes. how can i treat the soreness?

Thanks for the query..

Burning sensation of inside of mouth and inner lips seems to be most probably due to inflammation inside mouth that can occur due to causes.like dry mouth, eating plenty of citrus foods, Allergic reaction, burning with hot foods etc..

So my suggestion is to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..

For now start gargling with specialised mouthwash like Magic mouthwash..
Suck ice pops and gargle with cold water to reduce inflammation..
Take Vitamin B complex supplement..
Avoid irritant and spicy foods..
