What Causes Burning Sensation In The Lower Abdomen While Suffering From UTI?

An elderly relative (in her 90s) has had a UTI for several months and is on Cipro. She also has had a fall about 2 months ago -and has had to be in a skilled facility (rather than her apt) during that time. She has developed a severe, tingling/burning pain in her lower abdomen when she lies down. They cannot find a connection to her fall (MRI, etc). They are now wondering if she might be having a side effect to the Cipro she has been on for her UTI for some time now. thoughts?
