What Causes Burning Sensation In The Mouth After Taking Zoloft?
I take Zoloft, and I fell asleep and some how a pill got into my mouth and I woke up with an intense burning sensation with the melted capsule on my tongue and roof of my mouth. My whole mouth and throats are in pain especially my tongue, and I feel like I'm going to vomit... what do I do?!
Burning sensation in mouth specifically on tongue and roof of the mouth when you slept the whole night with a pill inside mouth is appearing to be due to chemical irritation of the mucosal surface inside the mouth..
It has led to inflammation, stinging and burning sensation..
So my suggestion is to first of all rinse the mouth thoroughly with water many times a day.. You can do warm saline gargles.. You can suck ice pops as it will help in reducing inflammation.. You can also gargle with Lidocaine mouthwash to reduce pain and burning sensation.. You can take Ibuprofen if pain is continuous..
If there is no improvement in 3-4 days consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
