What Causes Burning Sensation In The Soles Of The Feet?
Hi, Ive recently had problems exercising or standing up for longer periods of time because the bottoms of my feet, the soles, burn and hurt to the point where I can t be on them. Im 19 years old, and this has been the first time its started. It happened one day as i was in an aerobics exercise class and when i was doing walking for about 2 hours and stopped and stood (this was at a hospital as I did clincials).
The burning sensation and pain in the soles of your feelings are due to plantar fasciitis. This is an inflammation of the fascia that runs under the foot and can be treated with local ice cubes being rubbed on the painful area, Ibuprofen and physiotherapy (exercises that help the fascia at the bottom of the foot stretch gradually).
If these do not help enough, your doctor may inject steroid/lignocaine solution at the most painful area to help with the condition.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
General & Family Physician
