What Causes Burning Sensation In The Throat After Taking Clarithromycin?

i recently had flu which resulted in a sinus infection. I have taken 2 pills of clarithromycin 500mg(12 hours apart). I started feeling like I needed to cough phlem which turned into an excessive amount of coughing which made me feel like my throat was swelling up. I turned completely white and felt a burning sensation in my throat like it was obstructing my airway. My breath was fast and difficult for me to breath and lasted about 10 minutes.. I took a benadyl 25 mg and tried to calm down. now I am not coughing but feel a burning in my throat which I am now sucking on ice. Could this be a reaction to antibiotic?
