What Causes Burning Sensation In The Throat And Chest Congestion?

Hello, Late last night while I was sleeping, I was awakened by a burning senstation in my throat and congestion in my chest making me want to cough. As I started coughing, it made me vomit. It was mostly brown and eventually, the burning sensation went away but I kept needing to cough or clear my throat afterwards. I also burped quite a bit after I vomited. All day today, I ve had to keep clearing my throat and/or cough. Could this be anice acid reflux episode??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, it may be due to chronic gastritis.

For that, you can take tab. pantoprazole and syp. mucaine gel after consultation.

Avoid hot and spicy foods. Take a soft diet.

In case of not getting the relief, you may require upper GI endoscopy after consultation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
