What Causes Burning Sensation In The Throat And Fullness In The Ears?

Right tonsil burns on and off and feels like some post nasal drip sometimes. Fullness in right ear on and off along with some tonsil stones. I do get stuffy on that side as well. Tonsils look normal size and color according to doctors. Been dealing with this about a year now. Been to an ent and multiple doctors and they claim its allergies. Did multiple cbc and results look normal. Kinda stumped here.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of burning sensation in the throat and fullness in the ears which is due to frequent infection of respiratory tract and it is affecting ears due to eustachian tube dysfunctioning. Need not to worry. You should take preventive measures such as

- Maintain hygiene of ear canal.

- Avoid intake of sharp and spicy food and avoid cold beverages.

- Sip on warm water.

- Put Otogesic ear drops.

I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist once and get it examined. Doctor may order certain test like blood tests, audiometry to rule out underlying systemic conditions. Doctor may treat it according to the diagnosis, he/she may prescribe proper course of antibiotics.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
