What Causes Burning Sensation In The Throat While Having Barrett S Esophagus?

I have many environmental allergies and some minor food allergies, but also have had been diagnosed with Barrettes disease that was not active last year when having an annual upper endoscopy.I am now experiencing reflux/burning in my throat and upper esophagus; could this be a result of allergies?I am seeing an allergy specialist this month and my gastroenterologist the first of March.

Hello,
I can understand your concern for GI symptoms.
Allergies for different stimulus / source is autoimmune condition which is related to your immune system.
Reflux-esophagitis-Barrett's oesophagus is not autoimmune disease. This is related to laxity of lower part of oesophagus which allows gastric juice to reflux into oesophagus. Most common cause for this is hiatus hernia.
