What Causes Burning Sensation In The Tongue And Jaw Pain After Tooth Filling?
Hi, for most of the summer I've experienced something like when you burn your tongue and upper mouth but it doesn't go away. It started right after I had a tooth filled. My jaw hurt a lot afterwards, but that is going away slowly. I'm also going through menopause, if that has anything to do with it. The side of my tongue and mouth is the side that the tooth is on. The tooth itself is fine, so the dentist doesn't want to see me. ????
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of burning sensation in the tongue and jaw pain after tooth filling which seems to be due to allergic reaction to cleansing agents used and filling material and it could be flare up after endodontic treatment which is very common.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you t visit endodontist once and get complete examination done and start treatment accordingly. You should get IOPA of that particular tooth done to check any residual infection and go for bite test as well to check cracked tooth. Till then take proper antibiotics like Amoxicillin for any infection and Diclofenac for the pain in the jaw. Drink plenty of fluids and maintain hygiene.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
